Santa Medallion Hunt
David, Dirk & Kadon Chidester found Week #1 Santa Medallion on Saturday, December 2 at 4:30 p.m., 24 hours after the clues were posted.
It’s time again for the Santa Medallion chase, Please be respectful and play fair during this race. The prize is within the city and public right-of-way, Don’t damage property so we can continue to play.
The loot is out, it’s placed with care, It could be here, it could be there. To each business sponsor you must roam, To decipher the clues in our little Christmas poem.
Twas the month before Christmas and all through the town, Santa and his elves were scurrying around. He was ready to shop in Leoti for gifts oh-so-nice, So he was making his list and checking it twice.
At Western Hardware he got a mixer for mom and a tv for dad, Then took all the toys in the basement that Scott had. Candles and figurines and decorations galore, Santa found these great gifts at J & K Décor.
Leoti Greentech had kiddie tractors that pedal, And Wichita Co. Pharmacy had globe puzzles made of metal. At M & D Communications he found cell phones that were dandy, And he stopped by Mel’s Foodliner to stock up on holiday candy. The banks, both Security and Western, had Christmas silver dollars, “Ho, Ho, Ho, Leoti is a great place to shop”, Santa hollers.
With a twitch of his nose and a twinkle of his eye, In no time at all, his reindeer and sleigh were piled high. And we heard him exclaim as he drove out of sight, Merry Xmas to all and to all a good night!
EXPLANATION:
The clues were printed in shades of green. To decipher the clues, hunters had to place the lines of the poem in the correct order. Then the darker green letters spelled out “The santa medallion is hidden near the intersection of earl and sixth”. The medallion was hidden in the top of a metal post at the northeast corner of the county park near the entrance of the Wichita County Health Center, which is at the intersection of Earl and Sixth Streets. For purposes of printing the clues on this website, the darker green letters are printed in bold. |
