Recreation

Whether you enjoy stalking game in our wide open spaces, driving the back roads hunting history, or searching the roughs for that little white ball, Wichita County has something for everyone!

An abundance of pheasants, deer and antelope make Wichita County a great hunting destination! What a great way to enjoy the great plains vistas and experience the  brilliant colors of our wonderful sunsets.

Or...you can enjoy our big open skies on our

beautiful 9-hole golf course. Located on east

Highway 96, the Wichita County Municipal Golf

Course is available for play year-round. And

after a great round of golf, kick back and relax

a while in our new club house facilities.

Wichita County parks provide a great variety of fun

for the whole family. Stroll or roll around the parks

on the walking and rollerblading paths, play a game

of basketball or tennis on our outdoor courts, or cool

off in our newly constructed swimming pool. Picnic

shelters, horseshoe pits, sand volleyball courts and

playground equipment are also available to keep the

           whole family entertained.

Or, maybe you'd rather escape to the back roads of Wichita County to explore the history and nature of the great plains.  Geocaching, the latest technology trend in sporting, is a great way to explore. A number of geocaching sites are located in the county, including:
